Jamelia's death penalty
Jamelia has apparently said she wants the death penalty brought back.
The Superstar singer believes the government need to take strong action against gun and knife crime in Britain, according to The Sun newspaper.
Jamelia, 27, said: "National Service and the death penalty should be brought back.
"The justice system is a farce at the moment and I think it really needs to be tougher. There is a serious epidemic and it has to be stopped.
"If you have a gun or a knife, you should get an automatic prison sentence. If you carry a weapon you are prepared to take a life, it's that simple."
The R&B star, who was brought up in Birmingham, has experienced gang crime first-hand. Her 15-year-old brother Tesrod was stabbed to death when she was 13, and her half-brother Kiaro Beckford was jailed for life in 2004 for a gangland murder.
She is worried for the safety of her two daughters, six-year-old Teja and two-year-old Tiani.
She said: "I feel we are in an awful situation. I know people who have been sucked into a bad situation with gangs. I am very aware of it and I think it's absolutely awful.
"I do feel a lot more confident having girls than boys. I guess it's because of my experience having brothers. All of them have been touched by violence and tempted along the wrong path."

Britney Spears drugged
Britney Spears' manager Sam Lutfi frequently drugged her, according to the star's mother.
In a six-page declaration submitted as evidence for the restraining order against Lutfi, the singer's mother Lynne accused him of grinding up pills Britney takes for her bipolar disorder and putting them in her food.
Lynne said: "Sam told me that he grinds up Britney's pills, which were on the counter and included Risperdol and Seroquel.
"He told us that he puts them in her food and that was the reason she had been quiet for the last three days. She had been sleeping. He told us that the doctor who is treating her now is trying to get her into a sleep-induced coma so that they could give her drugs to heal her brain.
"He told me, 'I'm the one who spends 24/7 with your daughter. I sleep in cars outside her house so she can't leave.'
"He also said that if he weren't in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself. Then he said to me, 'If you try to get rid of me, she'll be dead and I'll p**s on her grave.' "
Lynne also revealed details behind the argument 26-year-old Britney had with Lutfi, after which she was seen sitting on a roadside curb outside her house crying.
She said: "Sam had told Britney that she was an unfit mother, a piece of trash and a w***e, that she cares more about Adnan Ghalib, her current boyfriend, than she cares about her kids, and that she does not deserve the kids.
"Britney spoke to me in a tone and with the level of understanding of a very young girl. Britney then picked up a bottle of pills and read part of the label and asked us, 'What does insomnia mean?' Sam told her the pills will help her stay awake."
Meanwhile, Britney's father Jamie - who has been granted temporary control over his daughter's financial, legal and medical affairs - revealed the star struggled to accept being committed and begged him to rescue her from the psychiatric ward at Los Angeles' UCLA Medical Center.
In court papers, he said: "Britney called me about every twenty minutes. She said, 'Hurry up and get here.' I asked her why. She said, 'Because you got to get me out of here.' I told her I could not get her out of there. She said, 'But I want you to.' "
Britney was involuntarily committed to the hospital last week.
She must spend up to 14 days in the ward after her psychiatrist deemed she wasn't well enough to leave.

Beckhams to adopt
David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly planning to adopt a baby girl.
The soccer star, who was moved by his recent trip to war torn Sierra Leone, is trying to convince his wife to open their home to an orphan from Africa.
A source close to the couple said: "Adoption is something David has been talking about for some time. David feels they are a very privileged family and they should be able to share their good fortune.
"He loves being a dad and helping kids. If there is one subject that can move him to tears it's the thought of being unloved, uncared for and with no hope or future.
"Victoria loves kids and it is her dream to have a little girl. It is early days but it's looking likely."
David has also sought advice from his close friend Tom Cruise, who has two adopted children of his own, about whether or not he thinks it is a good idea.
The source added to Grazia magazine: "Tom has talked to David about how adoption changed him and how he's been able to change the lives of two amazing children.
"Since they've been living in Los Angeles, the Beckhams have met people for whom adoption is a reality and they feel it is the right time to explore their options. Tom has told him about how much pleasure he has gained from raising his two adopted children, Connor and Isabella."
Victoria - who has three sons, Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, five, and two-year-old Cruz with David - has always wanted a girl and has been collecting fashion accessories to one day hand to her future daughter.
She said last year: "When I buy bags I think of them as an investment. Someday, when I'm lucky enough to have a girl, I will pass them along to her. It would just finish off our family to have a little girl."
