My Experience at Julius Agwu's Crack Ya Ribs in Manchester - Enjoy!

This show came to Manchester for the very first time and I thought, it nearer than London, lets go and have a laugh....Why not! Afteral we work so hard and as they say all work and no play makes Bunmi a .........girl. Plus its bank holiday next day so I can still rest plenty before going back to work. So off we went.....hubby and I.

At this point, a place like Manchester to me feels like "Abroad". I live in a errrm clears throat, "supposedly thush" part of England, where you don't see many black people. So on entering Manchester, yours truly, I could see plenty of my country men.
Seeing loads of guys around the post code area, we automatically knew we had arrived at the venue but there was a problem, it was on a main road, which mean there was no parking! So off we went again, to find parking. Like 5 mins walk away, we got one.  We didn't have any cash on us so hubby went off to find an ATM and I suggested he walks past the venue and ask what time the even will actually start- I know it said 6pm on the program but we all know "Nigerian Time" is very different.

He did exactly that and wasn't allowed it, so he assumed they had started. How wrong!

He came back to the car paid for like 6 hours packing and like the machine or the parking lot knew we came for a Nigerian show, it added a few more hours so all together like 11 hours but discounted the price. So parking sorted off we went to the venue together.

We got to the venue and was told by the security at the door - sorry we are running like 2 hours late! I thought i didnt hear well. Not half an hour  or an hour, 2 hours. Meaning the show will start at 8pm.

So I said to hubby please lets go find somewhere to eat. We went to ROOTs Restaurant and that was my first time there. I must say i wasn't too impressed. Load of guys sat around drinking and they had one very bad habit. Even though I was with my husband, they couldn't stop starring!

Like they were making it so obvious and of course my sharp husband noticed and just smiled, bless him. We ate and left the place, nice meal but they could do better, hubby said maybe cos its weekend, so their reception wasn't that good. I'm willing to try again sha. Food was really good, ate rice and goat meat, yummy.

We headed back to the venue, and unsurprisingly they still haven't started! This time we were checked in and given wrist bands to say we are allowed in.

We headed to the hall and it was very scanty! Surprise surprise!
We sat down and just waited to see what happens next. I was chatting with my friend at this point cos i was bored stiff, so I took a photo of the hall to show her what was going on.

Pastor Fatoyinbo's Response to Ese Walter and Others

Well, not sure what everyone was expecting "plus including me". Think we all wanted him to come out sunday morning and say whether he was guilty of these allegations or not. But according to the church goers, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo said " we" asked God and God said be quiet.

I believe someone recorded his response and below is the transcript of that part of the service culled from LIB.
Read it below.....

Yet another COZA Scandal Pastor Fatoyinbo Accused again?

OK Another lady came up with this story just today after the Ese Walter one broke yesterday.
Its getting worse I'm afraid.
This is from informationng.com.

Read her unedited story below:
“This Ese Walters story is true. I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU (for Pastoral Care Unit) worker. I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women. She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her. I believed her until the day she had an misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church.

“After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left. By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friendsplace as a PCU worker. I was reluctant because I didnt feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor Zbiodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed.
“I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone.

“He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentacostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate.
“I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complaint and the Pastor called the front desk (or pretended to) to demand for another room. He said they would call back when the room was ready.

Ese Walter's Affair with Pastor Fatoyinbo?

I'm sure you've seen this or heard about this by now but due to demands, here it is again. This was posted on her blog- Its really long are you ready.

WARNING!

This article contains stories that most ‘church people’ don’t want to address. So, if you are one of those living in denial and covering up crap going on in the church, this is where you should stop reading. Thanks for stopping by.

Now, for the rest of us, please sit down and switch on your open mind. I want to talk about something I have kept bottled up inside for longer than necessary. I have also decided to use real names, as my defense for any accusation of slander is justification. I tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but.

However, feel free to throw your doubt around but know that I am past the shaming game (where victims of abuse are shot down by blame) I am no longer a victim but a survivor who is sharing her experience to help others caught in same web of abuse, guilt and shame. We only get to live once right? So here, it goes…

Ade Adepitan: Polio Journey in Nigeria

Ok after all the hype about this program "Ade Adepitan: Journey of a my Lifetime" on channel 4, it finally aired tonight and I must say disappointed is an understatement not in the program, but in my dear country, Nigeria.

Ade Adepitan, A Paralympian born in Nigeria but grew up in London has polio as a child at 6 months so he lost both use of his legs. He went back to Nigeria to see why the virus is still there. It should have been eradicated ages ago but errrrrm, its still very much there mostly in the North.

New Baby Name- Messiah

A Tennessee Judge has ordered a baby's name Messiah to be changed!
Why on earth will someone call their child Messiah?
Now the dictionary meaning of Messiah is the promised and expected deliverer of the Jewish people- Jesus Christ....right?

What excuse do you have to be rude? Get a life!

I absolutely see no justifications for people to be rude to other people about their physical attributes. There is absolutely no reason for it.
Nigerians can be very rude especially to people they do not know and sometimes to people they know.
Imagine someone calling a Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedezie "shortest boss"!

Do people think he chose to be born like that? Or if there was anything medically he could do about it he won't do it? He accepted himself, made a living and he is enjoying his life the best way he can, he doesnt need to be reminded he is a little man. Mind you he seems complete, infact more complete than some of these so called normal people.  He has a career, he is married with a beautiful baby girl as well.......

It doesn't hurt to respect other people.

Get a life

Nollywood or Ghollywood- House of Gold and more

I haven't seen an African movie in a while so I decided to make use of my irokotv subscription tonight, abi at least I pay for it (covers face).

Well times like this I don't regret it. I've just seen this movie, House of Gold.
I haven't laughed like this in a while. The movie was about a man that had quite a few children....... errrm seems like from different women too.
He was diagnosed with cancer.....not sure what of, but he didn't have much time to live so he asked his lawyer to summon all his children to come home and live under the same roof for 7 days.
