Using Your Phone May Land You in Jail

If this works, then Nigeria is on a good track.
The Nigerian prison might be seeing loads of new faces if what the Federal Road Safety Corps say is true.
At the moment if you are caught using your telephone while driving in Nigeria, you get a fine of 4000 naira.
The FRSC says that is no longer working, so if anyone is caught now making or recieving call, they will be sent to jail.

Apparently people would rather be caught using their phones while driving and pay the fine for it rather than obey that law! Motorist even ask "how much is your fine? Tell me and let me pay and go"!
How stupid can they be!
Which part of your own safety or other people's safety do you not understand?  Ok if you don't care about your life how about other road users?

But this new law will give motorist criminal convictions. If what I have heard about Nigerian prisons are true then I don't think anyone in their right senses will think twice before breaking the law.

So how will they enforce it and how long will motorists gets in jail? The court will have to decide.  The FRSC said they have equipped their vans with state of the earth equipment and will need the help of mobile phone companies for call logs and all.
Already people are biased and i can sort of see why! some people are above the law in Nigeria........

We can only hope this works. If we all want Nigeria to change, we have to start from somewhere. LASMA worked in Lagos didn't it? I'm sure if they get some scape goats to show they are serious, the rest will sit tight.

By the way this doesn't just happen in Nigeria, it happens everywhere.
